Abortion is not a woman’s right and the fact it is labelled as such is the problem. It is not a human right to destroy a human right. Now, personally I do not believe abortion should be illegal, nor do I believe it should be state funded, especially when they push ideas like abortion being acceptable no matter where in the nine month period it is performed. We even have this absurd term After-birth Abortion, which is where you give birth and kill the baby, and then it gets classed as killing a fetus even when it is given birth to after the breaking of the waters.

I find the idea that Abortion is a woman’s right problematic for three reasons:
1. Among women it is about 50-50 who agrees and disagrees with abortion.
2. A very small percentage of women consider themselves Feminists.
3. Abortion involves a baby and a man, it is a family issue, not a woman’s.

The argument that it is your body your choice begs the question why you didn’t take responsibility with your own body in order not to get pregnant. If it truly is your body your choice, then choose better. Also this line of argument ignores that your body is the vessel of a man’s DNA and another human body. That means your body is three people’s body. If you want maximum freedom and choice, then you also need to take maximum responsibility with that freedom, choice and mistakes. Excusing mistakes with endless responsibility taking is not how you build a conscious and conscientious society.

Abortion is complicated, which is why I think just calling it a woman’s right and saying it is fine is immoral and stupid. A lot people don’t state that, I know, but my point is that is how it is put forward again and again. Especially in campaigns. So, for you to call it a woman’s right and a woman’s march for that right is absurd, half of women disagree with you, and even more women disagree with Feminism. Abortion is, and always will be a family issue, not a woman’s.

I am not going to go into rape cases, AIDS or when the mother would be killed if she didn’t have the abortion – I think all of those cases are sound reasons for abortion. And while I don’t agree with abortion, I can certainly see why it is more acceptable in such cases. Although the damage an abortion does to a woman’s mind, body and also increasing risks of infections and cancer is consistently ignored. Abortion is not safe, and never has been. People consistently ignore one side of the Science whenever it disagrees with them, this is a sure sign the person is an ideologue rather than interested in facts and a Liberal argument.

1. ‘D & E Abortion – Second trimester’:
http://abortionprocedures.com/
‘A dilation (dilatation) and evacuation abortion, D&E, is a surgical abortion procedure during which an abortionist first dilates the woman’s cervix and then uses instruments to dismember and extract the baby from the uterus. The D&E abortion procedure is usually performed between thirteen and twenty-four weeks LMP (that is thirteen to twenty-four weeks after the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period).’

‘A suction, or aspiration, D&C abortion is a procedure in which a suction catheter is inserted into the mother’s uterus to extract the preborn baby. Tools are then used to scrape the lining of the uterus to remove any remaining parts. This procedure is performed during the first trimester, typically during five and thirteen weeks LMP (that is five to thirteen weeks after the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period).’

3. ‘Abortion Pills – First Trimester Medical Abortion’:

‘A medical (or chemical) abortion is a non-surgical form of abortion in which the woman takes pills containing Mifepristone (RU-486) and Misoprostol (or Cytotec) to end the life of the baby. This procedure is performed during the first trimester of pregnancy. The drugs are approved by the FDA for use up to ten weeks since the first day of her last menstrual period (LMP).’

4. ‘Induction Abortion – Third Trimester’:
http://abortionprocedures.com/induction/
‘A third trimester induction abortion is performed at 25 weeks LMP (25 weeks since the first day of the woman’s last period) to term. At 25 weeks, a baby is almost fully-developed and is considered viable, meaning he or she could survive outside the womb. For this reason, the abortionist will usually first kill the baby in utero by injecting a substance that causes cardiac arrest, and induces the mother’s labor to deliver her baby stillborn.’
