Yeshua ben Yosef, son of man.
The Nazarene, the apocalyptic Jew.
Meek and mild, untamed and wild.
Be thankful: he came to save you.
“Truly, I say to you today
You will be with me in paradise.”
Two thousand years have passed
And still the faithful wait
For what he promised in his lifetime.
The promise unfulfilled.
Sweating blood in the garden of Gethsemane.
You sowed your own fruit that so surprised you.
Judas of Iscariot, known by history as betrayer.
Ignoring the betrayal that Jesus himself gave to mankind.
Divide his garments and you shall see a man.
Help him carry his cross, Simon of Cyrene.
Go to the place of a skull: Golgotha.
And hear him scream: “Eli, eli, lema sabachthani?!”
Annex the seasons, the Sun, the dates.
For God, his Son and Spirit we pray.
Annex the people, beliefs, and history.
Replace all facts with his story.
Sow his seed,
And see how they rot.
Oh, how you make him into what you need.
King of kings? His failure suggests not.
