The crazy six year old Thai Princess
Believed she disembowelled herself,
When she was a Japanese boy. Sorry
You cried into his trousers begging
To be taken home, years later as a
Woman you refused his love. Throwing
Away an heirloom, your emerald ring
Of royalty: the moonlight danced a regal
Slumber struck from the cobra snake.
Three moles, a cluster set upon your left
Side.

*This poem was inspired by Yukio Mishima’s novel The Temple of Dawn.
